Description

In the 1985 comedy/adventure movie, The Goonies, a group of kids from the "Goon Docks" neighborhood in Astoria, Oregon, try to save their homes from foreclosure due to plans for a new golf course. They discover an old map that could lead them to the treasure of legendary 17th-century pirate, One-Eyed Willy. With the hope of saving their homes, the Goonies embark on a dangerous adventure, racing against time and the criminal Fratelli family. As they navigate One-Eyed Willy's booby traps, the Goonies must prove their courage and determination. But the biggest question remains: is the treasure even real?

For this Callout, you and your Ruck Club will compete to see who lives up to the Goonies’ motto: “Goonies never say die!” Find a running track or mark off a 400 meter loop (approximately 0.25 miles). Divide your club into two teams, both will ruck the course but the point here is that you’re going to add weight for each mile (get creative: You could add something light like a water bottle to each participant at the completion of each loop, or switch to a bigger sandbag at each mile, etc). Continue until one team taps out. If this happens before the third mile, the winning team still must complete the mileage under weight.
